Touch panels belong to the family of HMI Operating Units. They are part of the Human Machine Interface and are designed to transmit the information put in by the operator to the attached Controlling Units. Touch Panels are fitted out with Touch Sensitive Screens. Touch Panels originate back to the 1980’s. In those days the first small touch sensitive Displays with 6-8” screens were fitted into existing or new systems. As in many other cases SIEMENS was amongst the first companies introducing this kind of technique with their SIMATIC Panels. At first these Touch Panels could only convert simple inputs for Print Processes. Touch Displays of the latest generation are now able to act multifunctional and can even be operated on with safety gloves.
The introduction of Touch Panels in the industrial sector brought along a great advantage: These modern HMI Operation Units enabled the systematic depiction of program features and input possibilities visualized by a single unit. Touch panels therefore found their way into the market at incredible speed now replacing the outdated displays with attached key-boards. All Touch Panels repaired by or purchsed at EICHLER will be fully tested before despatch. Specialized test racks are able to act similar to a construction under full capacity. Full trial runs give you the guarantee of the highest possible level on repair service of your Touch Panel.
