Touch Panel – the flexible allrounder in the every day use of mobile automation equipment
Touch panels belong to the family of HMI Operating Units. They are part of the Human Machine Interface and are designed to transmit the information put in by the operator to the attached Controlling Units. Touch Panels are fitted out with Touch Sensitive Screens. Touch Panels originate back to the 1980’s. In those days the first small touch sensitive Displays with 6-8” screens were fitted into existing or new systems. As in many other cases SIEMENS was amongst the first companies introducing this kind of technique with their SIMATIC Panels. At first these Touch Panels could only convert simple inputs for Print Processes. Touch Displays of the latest generation are now able to act multifunctional and can even be operated on with safety gloves.
The introduction of Touch Panels in the industrial sector brought along a great advantage: These modern HMI Operation Units enabled the systematic depiction of program features and input possibilities visualized by a single unit. Touch panels therefore found their way into the market at incredible speed now replacing the outdated displays with attached key-boards. Their highly flexible possibilities in various applications make Touch Panels nowadays to a standard part of systems of mechanical and electric engineering. Following this a variety of similar systems such as Mobile Panels were introduced. As in all cases where devices and machinery are installed in industrial surroundings even Touch Panels can get damaged, severely used or have other technical problems which disable their functions. Difficult surroundings within the production site ( heat, dust, moisture ) can lead to a malfunction of the built in electronic parts. At first the actual displays are the components falling out commonly. In case this panel should have been discontinued by the manufacturer, EICHLER will offer independent service on repair and ensures the function of production facilities even after a certain life-time cycle stated by the manufacturer has been reached.
Final tests and complete trial runs guarantee our quality on repair
All Touch Panels repaired by or purchsed at EICHLER will be fully tested before despatch. Specialized test racks are able to act similar to a construction under full capacity. Full trial runs give you the guarantee of the highest possible level on repair service of your Touch Panel.

We offer a large selection of Touch Panels – either still currently available from the manufacturer or discontinued. Our large stock provides short times of delivery even if this HMI Operating System should no longer be available from the manufacturer. The experts at EICHLER constantly monitor the market and build up capacities on relevant or sought after Components. Just like in our repair services the item purchased is fitted with a 24 months warranty. If you wish to have an optional test of all parameters we are able to extend this warranty up to 30 months. If requested we will provide you with complete report of the testing trial.
