From the well-known plant analysis to EICHLER's risk analysis

EICHLER Life Cycle Check

EICHLER Life Cycle Check / Risk analysis

There are countless forms and methodologies of risk analyses on the market that can provide you with statements about the condition of your machines and plants. But all of them have one thing in common, they have to painstakingly take care of all the data, search for it, collect it and store it in the long term until you can first draw a result from the entire configuration of your machine and plant. The knowledge of the current condition, the past development and the possible future outlook of individual units is to a high degree decisive for a functioning Life Cycle Management. Current standards and guidelines on obsolescence management already recommend that a risk analysis be carried out. If one deals more intensively with the various forms of a possible risk analysis, one encounters more and more hurdles that have to be overcome. For example, there is often a lack of time, resources and the necessary expertise to answer questions such as: "Who can perform a risk analysis?", "When can a risk analysis be performed?" and "What data is necessary to perform a usable risk analysis?".

For this reason, we offer our expertise and experience in the field of obsolescence management and constant analysis as well as observation of the market, either building on the stocktaking already carried out together with you or based on the data available to you. The knowledge of how the market is behaving, developing and possibly will develop is decisive for how you position yourself in your personal supply strategy and look to the future.

Product status/obsolescence analysis

Within the product status and obsolescence analysis, a usable result can already be achieved through existing basic data, such as the manufacturer part number. At this point, live data from your machine or plant do not yet play a role. This type of analysis will provide you with the availability status of your individual units in relation to both the original manufacturer and that of EICHLER. The product status and obsolescence analysis always goes hand in hand with the economic risk analysis.

Economic risk analysis (obsolescence risk)

Building on the product status and obsolescence analysis, the economic risk analysis is used. This is made up of several factors. Here, the product status of the original manufacturer and EICHLER forms the most important basis. In this step live data of your machine or plant can also be applied for more significant analyses. Thus, a lot of information can be determined based on your stock levels or planned service life.

Technical risk analysis

Technical risk analysis is the metric used to evaluate the probability and impact of a plant shutdown. The classic maintenance variables are the MTBF (mean time between failure) and the MTTR (mean time to repair), but more general data, such as a failure frequency, can also play a major role in the field of technical assessment. The special challenge, however, is the long-term recording of live data from your plant or machine.

Overall risk per unit

In order to finally bring all evaluations to a common denominator, the result of all previous analyses is combined and represents an overall risk consisting of obsolescence and technical factors. Such analysis results can provide fundamental support for a wide variety of objectives. For example, inventories can be optimized, capital commitment costs can be reduced, and plant availability can be improved.
